On 10 December, the State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate, D. Yesilgöz-Zegerius, sent a letter to the members of parliament regarding CCS.
In the letter the State Secretary underlines the importance of capture, transport and storage of CO2 (Carbon Capture and Storage, CCS) as a (transitional) technology for making Dutch industry more sustainable and essential for the Netherlands to meet its CO2 reduction target for 2030.
Next to developing projects such as Porthos and Aramis, CO2nnect is mentioned as past of the most important developments in this regard. In developing the neccesary infrastructure, cooperation is foreseen between Aramis, Porthos, Carbon Connect Delta and CO2nnect, each taking care of a different part of the chain.
