On 6 January 2022 the Notification of Intention and Proposal for Participation by Aramis was published by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Change.
The request from Aramis (consisting of the initiators: EBN, Gasunie, Shell and TotalEnergies) applies to the realisation of a large-scale CO2 transport infrastructure that will enable the storage of CO2 in empty gas fields at sea. The notification explains what the project entails, what stakeholders can think about and how they can respond.
For the delivery of CO2, Aramis is working together with CO2nnect, to develop a terminal for the reception and delivery of liquid CO2 via ships. For transport via a CO2 pipeline and a compressor station in the Rotterdam port area Aramis will be working together with Porthos, a CCS initiative of EBN, Gasunie and the Port of Rotterdam Authority.
The publication of this notification marks the start of the procedure for Aramis.
